Establishing New Emotional Territory
Hi, it's Dyana, and I'm here with your divination
for the new moon in Sidereal Scorpio. The 2025
Sidereal Astrology Guide says, establishing
new emotional territory. [MUSIC] Break down If you
can't hold it, let it hold you Let it carry
This is episode 13 of the Divvination for Liberation
podcast. Technically, this is like episode
37, 32, something like that, technically. Because
before the Div4Lib podcast was public,
I had it behind a paywall on my podia, which
if you are not a member of the podia and you
like this podcast, you're tripping. and you
should go to the link in the description and
become a member and support the Div4Lib
podcast so it can keep going. Anyways, that
being said, I would like to take this opportunity
upfront to let y'all know that this particular
episode of the Divination for Liberation podcast
is going to... It's gonna be something. And
I normally don't like to preface my podcast
with any type of soliloquies or disclaimers
because I like to just bring it to you. But
I feel like this episode deserves a warning
up front. And so before you dig into this episode,
you should have some tea. You should be relaxed.
laying down, seated. If you're driving, you
know, good luck. But I'm just letting you
know up front, all right? Those of you who have
been members of the Div4Lib community,
who have been following my work for this past
nine years, know that on occasion, I have been
known to read a hoe. And by how I mean gender
neutral. I mean that no gender is spared a
read from the people's oracle. And that's what
this is about to be. I was sitting there doing
my makeup before I came and set everything up
for the podcast. And I've just been in meditation
for the past few days about this episode and
really thinking about... establishing new
emotional territory. So without further ado,
let's get into it. some of the things that
have been on my mind. Leading up to this particular
new moon, which if you listen to episode 12
of the Div4Lib podcast, you know that we
are in the midst of three loonations that are
ruled by a planet in Scorpio. And if you have
sidereal Scorpio placements, I've said a lot
of things that you already know about yourself.
that people don't have mediocre responses
to you. People either love you or hate you.
You are the nemesis and the enemy of all that
is traditional and conservative. You are the
challenger of family lore. You are the challenger
of narcissistic identities. And this is not
to say that Scorpios can't be narcissistic,
but you get my point. that when you have sidereal
Scorpio placements, people be taking your personal
stuff real personal, as if they don't have their
own personal stuff to be dealing with. But
what that has to do with this moment, establishing
new emotional territory in this moment, in
the midst of like these three Lu nations that
are ruled by Scorpio, coming on the heels
of a year-long transit of Jupiter in Taurus,
which was from... the spring of 2024 to the
spring of 2025. Scorpio transits, Scorpio lunations
are course correction transit. To establish
new emotional territory is to consider the
possibility that you have conceded emotional
territory.
To concede emotional territory means that for
you, there are emotions that are off-limit.
You don't deal with anger. You don't have time
to be angry. You don't cry maybe because you
just don't know how.
You don't experience the spontaneous uprising
of joy because life has made it a little bit
too clear that it will get snatched out of
your hands before you've had a chance to really
feel it.
Establishing new emotional territory is speaking
to us collectively about the territory that
we have collectively conceded.
We have collectively conceded the emotional
territory of grief.
In the place of grief, we have chosen addiction,
indulgence, consumption, and numbness.
in the place of the territory of grief, we've
conceded that because it doesn't feel good.
we've given up the territory of grief and we
collectively said we're not going there. But
see, the thing about conceding emotional territory
is that like for every emotional action, there's
an equal and opposite reaction. Meaning that
the more that you avoid grief, the more that
you concede the territory of grief, the deeper
into addiction you have to go to keep it from
catching up with you.
Establishing new emotional territory means that
it's time for us individually and collectively
to reclaim the territory that we have conceded.
It is time for us to collectively reclaim the
emotional territory we have conceded to capitalism,
white supremacy, and patriarchy. Because see,
patriarchy tells you that all that is feminine
is weak and all that is weak deserves to be
dominated and all that deserves to be dominated
does not deserve to live.
Capitalism tells us that there is no time for
grief. Griefivate is a pathological illness
that keeps you. from being productive in your
labor for the capitalist class. They even have
a diagnosis in the current DSM. Pathologizing,
you've been grieving too long.
grieving too long? I'm not making this up. Go
look it up for yourself. I'm not exactly sure
of the clinical term for the quote, excessive
grief end quote that now apparently is a clinical
diagnosis with a code for the insurance companies
to be billed by your therapist. Because see,
in order for your therapist to build the insurance
company, you got to have a diagnosis. That's
how they get paid.
Establishing new emotional territory is not
an intellectual exercise in naming emotions.
It is a somatic nervous system adjustment.
that takes you into emotional spaces that are
associated with death.
I'm gonna say that one more time, because some
of the saints didn't hear me the first time.
Establishing new emotional territory is physical
and emotional discomfort. It is the adjustment
of your nervous system, moving into emotional
spaces that have previously been associated
with death. I talk a lot about trans people
and the trans experience in my work. I've been
honored. to serve so many trans people in my
work. And when I get to talking about Scorpio,
this experience is not foreign to them, that
there is an inherent alienation to occupying
their emotional biological truth.
And that alienation is not just feeling left
out. That alienation is the threat of death.
Establishing new emotional territory is asking
you. What feelings are off limits? When people
ask me, or there's on the occasion that people
repeat the same questions on social media all
the time, because they want to know, what's
the difference between intuition and anxiety?
How do you tell the difference between intuition
and anxiety? And I think that anxiety is intuition
you have not yet learned to discern and trust.
I understand anxiety to be a blanket generic
term for all of the emotional territory you
have not traversed.
of all of the emotions that you have not learned
to recognize and respond to, all of the emotions
that when you've had them.
There was no response in your environment. There
was no meeting you there with them. Anxiety
is kind of like the choice between emotional
self-abandonment and attachment. If you honor
the truth of how you're feeling, will your caregiver,
your loved one, your spouse, your friend, your
community, your government, will they come meet
you where you are emotionally? Or will your
emotional experience be the reason for your
rejection, the reason for your alienation,
the reason for your punishment, the reason for
the violence that's inflicted upon you? Are
your emotions something that draw people into
intimate relationship with you or are your
emotions something that lead people to abandon
you and discard you? This is really the question
that we're asking. with all of this Scorpio
going on that does not finish until we get
to the early part of December. establishing
new emotional territory collectively again,
what are the emotions that we have collectively
determined to be off limits or that capitalism,
white supremacy and patriarchy has determined
to be off limits? And should you move into
the territory of these emotional spaces, you
will receive the punishment of capitalism
whiteness. and patriarchy, which is death, deprivation,
homelessness, starvation, imprisonment, and
violence.
Who's allowed to be angry?
Who's allowed to cry?
who is allowed to be joyful and to be happy.
Who is allowed to celebrate and what are they
allowed to celebrate? Who is allowed to grieve?
How long are they allowed to grieve and what
are they allowed to grieve?
These are collective determinations. There's
a question I think I wrote in the monthly
summary for November in the 2025 Sidereal Astrology
Guide. I said, what are the feelings a family
or society habitually feels?
When people say it's not that deep, they're
saying that's emotional territory I don't want
to traverse. When people say it's not that deep,
saying it's going to take me to a place emotionally
I don't want to go. It's off limits for me.
When people are calling you too sensitive, they're
saying you're traversing emotional territory
that I don't want to go to. I'm have to leave
you there by yourself.
What are the feelings a family or society habitually
feels? It is not lost on me. that as grief.
becomes pathologized according to the DSM. Diagnostic
Statistical Manual, I believe that's what it
stands for. It's not lost on me that sports
gambling has been legalized.
It's not lost on me that Congress just voted
and Trump signed the bill outlawing Hemp Derives
THC.
is that alcohol companies are struggling since
2020. Part of the reason why alcohol companies
are struggling since 2020 is because COVID is
known to cause alcohol intolerance. So when
you find yourself unable to tolerate alcohol
any longer, there's a strong possibility that
one too many COVID infections has impaired your
capacity to consume alcohol. But it's not lost
on me that capitalism is organizing itself around
addictive behaviors like gambling and addictive
substances like alcohol.
Because numbing is the way that we avoid emotional
territory, that we're afraid to traverse, that
we will be penalized for traversing, that we
cannot enter and move through.
What emotional territory are you reclaiming
at this new moon? As a collective, what emotional
territory is available for us to reclaim?
I don't know that I have the answer to that,
but I do know that we have been given the opportunity
to reclaim the territory of hope in the victory
of Zoran Mamdani as mayor of New York City.
And you see how quickly they try to snatch that
from us? They say, hey, don't get any ideas.
Don't think that this is the way that things
are gonna be going henceforth.
have a couple more things I wanna say. There's
this discourse around like letting people have
their fun. Don't, you know, mess up my enjoyment
of this movie, of this film, of this celebrity,
of this pop culture moment. Don't mess it up
for me by bringing in, you know, reality,
by bringing in truth. And I want to challenge
that because... It's often presented in a
way that creates a binary that says either I
have my fun and my joy in consumption and celebrity
culture, or I don't have any fun at all. Those
are my only two options.
But that binary that people project. is the
consequence of propaganda.
that the joy of celebrity culture, bread and
circuses, right? If you don't know what that
is, take a quick Google. But the joy of bread
and circuses is meant to numb you. so that
you don't get any bright ideas and decide that
you want to be angry because the Democratic
Party just made your health insurance $3,000
a month. Part of what I'm talking about here
is how there are logical and rational emotional
reactions that we should be having to capitalism,
that we should be having to climate disaster
and climate change. But we're not having those
reactions. because we're being emotionally manipulated
into channeling our emotional energy into other
spaces. And this is the second thing I wanna
talk about. All of this always brings me back
to revolution begins in the body and the body
being the primary site of revolution. It's
where revolution starts because it's where oppression
and fascism begin. Revolution has to begin
in the body because the body is where fascism
and oppression begin. It begins with telling
you who to be afraid of. It begins with telling
you who your enemy is. It begins with reprogramming
your nervous system to serve the survival of
capitalism and white supremacy and patriarchy
over the survival of your own body. to the point
that you will argue somebody down when they
say the word communist, even though you don't
even know what it means. You couldn't even
define communism if somebody asked you to. Yet
your nervous system is triggered. And that
trigger, that defensiveness and rejection,
or yeah, that defensiveness and rejection you
feel when somebody mentions the word socialism
or someone mentions the term communists. It
is because you are fawning capitalism. You don't
want the capitalist to perceive you as a threat
because if capitalists perceive you as a threat,
they will take your housing and your access
to food and your livelihood. I really suggest
that everybody who's listening to this podcast,
Go learn what communism is. You have been brainwashed
and propagandized if you don't know what McCarthyism
is, if you don't know about Paul Robeson and
the many creatives who were blacklisted. If
you don't know that if you were suspected of
being gay, you were called a communist and
blacklisted. If you were suspected of being
trans or queer, you were called a communist.
You don't even know who Paul Robeson is. And
that's for a reason. Paul Robeson graduated
from Rutgers University in the 1920s or 30s.
He spoke multiple languages, including Russian.
He traveled the world singing and performing
and acting. the first black actor to perform
in Othello. You don't even know who Paul Robeson
is. You don't know his legacy because he spent
the last years of his life with his passport
revoked, his ability to travel the world and
speak and perform taken away from him and blacklisted
and erased because he was a real communist.
You don't know that there has been no successful
communist country because every time we were
on the verge of one, suddenly there was a coup
or an assassination. You don't know what communism
is because of the Red Scare.
think that's all I have to say. I'm going to
pull some cards now.
Let us see what wisdom and insight the tarot
has to offer us at this new moon in Sidereal
Scorpio, establishing new emotional territory.
We've got the moon on the bottom. The moon
is a card that's speaking about the inherent
darkness of night. It is speaking about the
uncertainty and the carefulness with which
we move when it's dark. It speaks to times
where we really cannot rely on the sense of
sight to show us what's real, to reveal anything
about our circumstances or reality. The partner
card to this, the sun. is very much about what
you see is what you get. It's about, you know,
being able to trust that what you see is literally
the nature of what something is, that you can
trust your perception and you can trust your
sight that you are seeing correctly. The moon
is not saying you're not seeing correctly as
much as it's saying that sight is not the sense
to rely on in this moment. And I think this
speaks, um, really directly to the idea of
a Scorpio new moon and establishing new emotional
territory. The senses we use to establish new
emotional territory is not the sight because
our eyes are programmed to perceive things a
certain way. And given this age of AI, you
don't even know if what you're looking at is
real. You know, they had all of those AI generated
videos of black women engaging in snap fraud,
right? So the moon is asking us, what are these
other senses that we need to rely on in order
to navigate this moment of darkness? We're
leading up to the solstice, which will be, you
know, in about four weeks or five weeks or
so. And the solstice is this moment of deep
darkness. And in the moments of deep darkness,
you kind of have to concede that there is some
things that you're not going to be able to
see. I think a lot of times when we don't have
the clarity of sight, we rely on familiar
emotional pathways to navigate our circumstances.
there are certain emotions that we default
to. And so establishing emotional territory
in this moon card is saying, what are the emotions
you default to? A lot of men default to anger.
In my coaching work, PsychiSelfSoul, if you're
not familiar, there's an Instagram and TikTok
page, and it's therapeutic coaching services
that I offer using a methodology I've created
called the Seven Essential Needs. And I talk
a lot about what does it mean to be emotionally
available. I talk about how emotional availability
is not your openness and your emotional openness
to another person. Emotional availability has
to do with the emotional spectrum you have
access to. So to say that you are not emotionally
available or that you are emotionally unavailable
is to say that you have a narrow range of emotions
that you have access to. Emotional availability
also speaks to the ease or the facility with
which we are able to move in and out of emotional
states. So on one extreme, a really emotionally
unavailable person would have a very limited
number of emotions they have access to, and
it would be very rigid and hard for them to
move in and out of those emotional states. Some
of this is circumstantial. If you are in a
time of deep grief, yeah, no, you don't have
that much access to joy and happiness. It's
just what it is. If somebody crossed your boundaries
or is oppressing you, yeah, there's going to
be some feelings that you feel about that. Because
the other thing that Scorpio talks us about,
Scorpio is the emotional protector. And the
emotional protector is really about protecting
you from external manipulation that is trying
to get you to concede emotional territory.
Like when you're trying to be serious and address
a serious concern and somebody is cracking
jokes or trying to make you laugh, they are
trying to make you concede emotional territory.
When you're trying to talk about your health
insurance becoming too expensive and you're
trying to talk about the climate disaster and
somebody is like, oh my God, just let me enjoy
Nicki Minaj. It's just like, that is emotional
manipulation. Or an artist is, trying to
sell you a new product. Yeah, I'm talking about
you, Beyonce. In the middle of SNAP benefits
being canceled, in the middle of a serious
unemployment. epidemic that is disproportionately
affecting black women. That is emotional manipulation.
It's saying, there, there, there. Don't feel
bad that you lost your job, just buy this mug.
Just buy this road.
So Scorpio is protecting us. Scorpio was all
about holding on to your emotions and not
letting them go because it feels too lonely
and you feel left out and it feels bad. Scorpio
is just like, yo, sometimes you're gonna feel
bad. I think with the moon, this comes with
a lot of uncertainty because you know if you
just default to your caretaking, If you just
default to alcohol consumption, if you just
default to a Sheen haul, if you just default
to a Sephora haul, if you just veg out on your
game all night, you know that emotional territory.
You know the feeling that it's going to give
you. You know the feeling that you're trying
to access when you move in that direction. But
the moon is talking about there is an inherent
uncertainty. to establishing new emotional territory
because those spaces are unfamiliar to you.
And see, the thing that people don't talk about
enough for me is that when you are moving into
emotional territory that is unfamiliar to you,
these are the types of things that rearrange
your whole life. So I don't take it lightly
to say establishing new emotional territory,
because you've built a whole persona. around
being easygoing and difficult to anger and
not holding grudges. And all of a sudden, you
find yourself still angry six weeks later.
And that's unfamiliar to you because now you
actually have to respond to that emotion, which
means some things are going to get moved around,
some people are not going to like it, some
relationships won't survive, that job might
not survive. The persona that you've invested
in being perceived as might not survive. And
now what are they going to think of you? We've
got the Temperance card. Wow, this is fascinating
to me. And we've got the star. Oof. So, Temperance
card for me has two connotations. The one that
I want to talk about first is that Temperance
often comes up for me in uh readings with clients
when someone is dealing with addiction. Temperance
card comes up when someone is having trouble
managing their consumption of a substance
or their indulgence in a particular behavior
or their indulgence in an emotion. And temperance
is alerting us to this behavior, to this addictive
tendency, to this addictive issue that we're
dealing with. And I know how the sky looks right
now. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge
that this is a moment where the-
Impulse.
you give up your sobriety is very strong.
feel like I talked about this on the last episode,
but it's like, of course, the impulse to pick
up that drink or that joint or that credit card
is very strong in a time of deep uncertainty,
in a time where a bunch of folks just spent...
over a month without getting paid. Bills piling
up. 90-day defaults on mortgages, student loans,
and car notes are the highest they've been
in years.
So yes, absolutely. It would totally make
sense if you are struggling with your sobriety
and you're feeling tempted.
But what I know about addiction... is that addiction
is a behavior that works very well. to help
us avoid entering into certain emotional territory.
Addiction is literally an emotional warden.
that guards and creates a barricade between
us and some emotional territory.
that we don't wanna get into, or that we never
had anyone get into with us.
But establishing new emotional territory says
you have to go by yourself. And the only way
who you'll know who really rides for you is
if you go by yourself.
because otherwise the people who are in your
lives are only there because they approve and
they like and enjoy the self that won't go there.
On the other side of that is where the intimacy
is. It's where the emotional security is. We've
got the star here. And I don't know if you
can see, but in both of these cards, There's
this imagery of water being poured from buckets.
With temperance, temperance is often trying
to get us to keep things in proper perspective.
Temperance is often a warning that like you're
making too much of this one thing. You're drawing
a conclusion without enough information, without
enough data. And then it also speaks to the
addictive things that I spoke about before.
And then we have the star card. I think the
star card in this moment is speaking to us and
translating the fact that in the midst of the
entire sky being in water right now, except
for Venus. And then Mercury and Venus are gonna
switch places. Over the weekend, Venus will
go into Scorpio and Mercury will go back into
Libra and then Mercury will be the only planet
in an air sign in Libra. I think the star is
speaking to... The visual I get is of the kid
uh at the beach, and he just knows he's drowning.
He just knows the water is too deep for him.
And his mom is trying to like shake some sense
at him, like, stand up, boys, stand up. And
then he stands up and realizes the water is
only like to his thighs or something like that.
I feel like that's an apt metaphor for this
moment. This sky being filled with water. I
talk about water. signs, or if you have a birth
chart where your sidereal birth chart has a
lot of Scorpio Pisces and cancer. when our
birth charts are dominated by the tool of water
in this way.
We experienced a lot of emotional reactivity
in our homes and upbringing.
And we're coddled and that nobody wants you
to ever feel any discomfort. So you're not
allowed to take risks or do things on your own.
Or you're treated as if your emotions are
a threat to the family. You're treated as if
you are just so sensitive and now nobody can
be happy and nobody can chill because why are
you so emotional? That reactivity exaggerates,
which is a lot of the times what happens with
the Temperance card. It's exaggerating the
influence of your emotions because you are having
this experience. You're making everybody else
feel this way. In these moments where the sky
is all water or you have a birth chart that's
dominated by water, you don't know any better
but to be overly reactive to your own emotions.
Everything feels so big. And I think that there
is a right moment to bring things into proper
perspective. And to understand that like, yeah,
that feels really intense. I don't like the
way that feels. I don't want to feel that way,
but it's the way that I feel. Scorpio is also
protecting us from emotional self-abandonment.
It's scary to be in a feeling by yourself. That's
why most people don't want to do it.
But there's a real opportunity for us to get
some perspective as we are wading into emotional
territory that is unfamiliar to us, that has
been off limits to us. Is it grief? Is it rage?
Is it terror? I posted on Blue Sky, probably
this morning or last night, I said, it's too
hot for November, somebody do something. And
then I attached a GIF of a woman screaming,
because that's how I really feel. It is too
hot outside, and it's scary, and it's bad,
and it's gonna be worse, and somebody needs
to do something. But look at the way nobody
is reacting.
It is blowing my mind. that this is a crisis
of apocalyptic proportions and collectively
we just cannot find our way to the emotional
territory. that it would make sense to be in
with things being this way. Take that analogy.
And if you're somebody who doesn't have water
in your chart, take that analogy.
and apply it to your life. Of those times, you
look back and you're like, damn, that's what
I was going through. That's what I was experiencing.
That's not appropriate for a kid to experience.
But you look back and none of the adults were
reacting or responding. Nobody noticed. You
were locked in your room for weeks at a time,
not talking to anyone and nobody noticed. That's
going make it really hard for you to have access
to the full range of human emotions. Because
at the very moment you needed a witness to your
emotional experience, you got ignored. This
Scorpio new moon establishing new emotional
territory is your call to find your way into
that emotional space that maybe you didn't have
a choice about.
Make a fuss.
Thank you for tuning in to the Divination for
Liberation podcast. I'll see you in a couple
of weeks at the full moon in Sidereal Taurus.
I want to take this moment, I normally do my
COVID update here. I have very little to say
about COVID. We're in a lull, however, there
is transmission starting to rise up again, which
is what I said. I've been saying for a while
now that I didn't know how long that lull was
going to last because I saw another surge coming.
uh November through uh January. I think that
this surge will peak sometime in January. um
And that's where we are. But I want to talk
about some other predictions that I've been
following and making over the past few years,
and that is about bird flu. For those of you
who have been paying attention, you know that
I've talked about these various windows that
I would be watching. to see what was happening
with bird flu because that was going to be
um a sign or a way for me to assess what to
expect going forward. And so again, those of
you who are not new to this but true to this
know that my checkpoint for bird flu was November,
2025.
And these are the things that I hate being right
about.
A man in Washington state has been diagnosed
with bird flu and it is not H5N1, it is actually
H5N5, I believe. The strain of bird flu that
he has, has not been seen in humans before.
And I really hate that it's happening at this
moment because now I have to file that in
my file. of, man, there might be a bird flu
epidemic or pandemic coming. I do keep up with
bird flu news pretty closely, and I've seen
some news about at least an H5N1 vaccine that's
promising. And I've also seen some news about
cross-strain protection. I cannot tell you
what the strains are, but there is some protection
from prior infection with some other strains.
I don't know if it was H1N1 or what it was.
Thank you. Somebody, I'm on Instagram Live
for those of you who are listening to this podcast
on YouTube or streaming it, but someone just
told me H3N2 is the seasonal flu strain hitting
hard this year. Thank you for that because
that's a piece I'm missing. So I think it's
H5N5 is the strain of bird flu the man in Washington
state is infected with that has not been seen
in humans before. And H3N2 is the strain of
flu that is spreading right now. It's causing
big issues in some other countries and it's
going to be here soon. And unfortunately, the
flu vaccine that's been distributed this year
in the States is not a match for H3N2.
We have a perfect storm for a flu strain reassortment
that causes a flu pandemic because there is
not enough ah immunity to keep it from spreading.
There is a thread on my Twitter. I really should
try to transfer that to my podia. I might try
to remember to do that at some point this week
or over the weekend from last year where I made
some predictions about a bird flu pandemic.
I went back to 1918 to see what was going on
astrologically, and that's what led me to the
conclusion. that even though bird flu was really
making the moves amongst poultry and dairy
workers and poultry workers in 2023, 2024, that
it really was 2026, 2027 for me that I saw
the most danger for a bird flu pandemic. And
November 2025 was a milestone that I wanted
to check and see what was going on. with bird
flu because that for me was going to give me
some insight into whether we really have something
to be worried about. And unfortunately, we
really do. In the meantime, in between time,
please continue to mask, please continue to
protect yourself in indoor spaces. Even though
we're in a COVID lull, that does not mean there
is no COVID circulating. It means that there
is still COVID circulating, just not as much
as it was about four weeks ago. I will see you
all soon. Bye!
